Nzuko Aro Worldwide, an umbrella body uniting all Arochukwu people has thanked the Executive Governor of Abia State, Dr Alex Otti for awarding contract for the fixing of Okobo road, which is one of the major roads leading into Arochukwu communities.
In a Statement signed by the organisation’s President General, Mazi (Sir) Dozie Udensi (Ugwu Aro) and it’s Secretary General, Dr. Kanu Ohuche(Ugwu Aro), the group said that the road remains a major arterial road that connects many of the communities in Arochukwu Local Government Area which has been in a pitiable state of disrepair through many civilian administrations in Abia State for the past 24 years.
Nzuko Aro further said the Governor’s decision to repair the road, a few months into office showed his of “firm understanding of the socio-economic and agricultural significance of this road to inhabitants of Arochukwu Local Government in particular and Abia State in general”.
The letter reads “The President General, Mazi (Sir) Dozie Udensi, and the Central Working Executive Committee ( CWEC) of Nzuko Aro Worldwide received with great joy the Award of the contract for the construction and rehabilitation of Okobo Road by your government.
“Your Excellency, it is important to note that Okobo Road remains a major arterial road that connects many of the communities in Arochukwu Local Government Area and had remained in a pitiable state of disrepair through many civilian administrations in Abia State for the past 24 years until you arrived. Your decision to give it priority attention,just a few months of your assumption of office eloquently speaks to your firm understanding of the socio-economic and agricultural significance of this road to inhabitants of Arochukwu Local Government in particular and Abia State in general.
