Obiano Speaks From Houston, Says He Is “I am Alive, Hale, Hearty and in Excellent Health”

Obiano Speaks From Houston

Former Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano (Akpokuedike), has personally debunked widespread rumours claiming he had died, describing the reports as false, mischievous, and entirely baseless.

In a statement posted on his official Facebook page on Friday, Obiano reassured Ndi Anambra, friends, and well-wishers that he is in excellent health and urged the public to disregard the circulating claim.

Obiano wrote:

“My beloved Ndi Anambra, friends, and well-wishers,
I woke to hear of a rumour making the rounds about my wellbeing.
Let me assure you personally:
I am alive, hale, hearty, and in excellent health.
By the special grace of God, I am doing very well.”

He condemned those spreading the false report, noting that some individuals appear to “find joy in spreading falsehood” for reasons that remain unclear. Despite this, he said he remains focused and unbothered.

Obiano added:

“It is unfortunate that some individuals still find joy in spreading falsehood simply for reasons yet to be established. But we will continue to rise above such mischief.”

He also expressed gratitude to those who reached out with calls, messages, and prayers following the rumour, saying their concern and goodwill meant more than words could convey.

“To everyone who reached out with calls, messages, and prayers, I sincerely appreciate your concern. Your love and goodwill mean more than words can express.”

He urged the public to completely disregard the story, affirming that he remains guided by God’s grace.

The former governor signed off:

“Please disregard the rumour entirely.
We remain focused, grateful, and guided by God’s grace.
Daalu nu, and may God bless you all.
– Chief Willie Obiano, FCA (Akpokuedike)”

His statement follows multiple earlier debunkings from public figures, including Ogilisi-Igbo and Emeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu Jr, who both confirmed that Obiano is alive and well.
