Peter Mbah: We will grow the GDP od Enugu State from $4bn to $30bn

Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Enugu State, Peter Mbah, has said he will grow the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the state from $4.4 billion to $30 billion if elected in 2023 poll.

Mbah made this known, yesterday, at Igbo-Eze North local government headquarters, during a visit to members of the party and stakeholders.

He vowed to present his programmes to the people when campaigns start, stressing that he was only in the council to thank them.

“Enugu State is blessed with mineral resources that have to be harnessed. We will have a lot of programmes in agriculture. I know Igbo-Eze North is rich in agriculture. We will make for agro-allied industrialisation so we’ll have zero hunger in the state and also produce for others.

“We’ll have a cotton belt in Enugu State. We will not only depend on the consumption but we will become producers of cotton from raw material to finished product. It is my projection to grow the state economy from $4.4 billion to $30 billion with the private sector playing a greater role in the economic development of the state.

“I am happy with what I saw today at Igbo-Eze North. The party is intact here and I am counting on you all in February 2023,” he said.

A member representing Igbo-Eze North/Udenu federal constituency at the National Assembly, Simon Atigwe, while assuring Mba of his victory dismissed any presence of opposition parties in the council.

He said Mbah is a perfect governorship candidate in the state as other candidates are ‘bad drivers’ who cannot be trusted with the affairs of the state.
