PHOTOS: Convener of Ije Awele Movement, Engr Mike Ogbuekwe celebrates Christmas with mothers, widows, shares bags of rice, beans, salt, etc in Enugu community

It is said that the hallmark of humanity is giving back to the society. Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe, the Convener of Ije Awele Movement in his usual manner, showed benevolence to his people of Nkerefi by hosting a Christmas party and giveaway to mothers and widows of Nkerefi town.

Speaking to the women, he thanked God for the gift of life and good health as the year ends. He seized the opportunity to reiterate the commitment of Dr. Peter Mbah’s blueprint for the economic development of Nkerefi in particular, and Enugu State at large.

He also informed the visibly ecstatic women of Nkerefi of a rice mill which he built at Ihuakpu as a Corporate Social Responsibility to boost the agricultural economy of the community, and also, eradicate the hardship women face in processing paddy rice.

Furthermore, he thanked the Governor of Enugu State HE; Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for fixing the road network into Nkerefi and the borehole sunk by IFAD/VCDP agriculture programme at Eke Nkerefi.

The women who couldn’t hide their joy took turns to shower encomiums on Engr. Mike, and prayed that God will continue to protect and preserve him for remembering them.

Jungle-Journalist.Com understands that same time last year, Engr. Mike Ogbuekwe also gifted mothers and widows of Nkerefi with bags of rice.
