Prof ABC Nwosu, Alhaji Walid Jibrin, others welcome Ohuabunwa to PDP BoT/NEC meeting

A renowned technocrat and PDP presidential hopeful Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa was on March 16, 2022 I well received as he showed up at the meeting of the BOT and NEC of the Peoples Democratic Party which was held at Wadata Plaza, Abuja.

The elated presidential aspirant of the party Mazi Ohuabunwa shared some of the impressive pictures on his facebook handle where he was captured while exchanging pleasantries and interacting with party leaders and officials present.

Among the key leaders of the party who warmly received him were:

Alhaji Walid Jibrin (BOT Chair), Senator Adol Wabara (BOT Sec), Senator Sam Anyanwu (National Sec), Alhaji Arapaja (Deputy Chairman, South), Senator Philip Aduda (FCT), Sen Mao Ohuabunwa, HE Celestine Omehia, HE Chief Jim Nwobodo, HE Achike Udenwa.

Others were HE Liyel Imoke, HE Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, HE Ibrahim Dankwanbo, HE Sule Lamido, Prof ABC Nwosu, Chief Onyema Ugochukwu and Mrs Josephine Anenih, Chief Bode George, Gov Olusegun Mimiko, Prof Jerry Gana amongst many others.

The presidential hopeful had on 8th, March addressed Federal Legislators in Abuja on a high-profile interactive session aimed at highlighting and proffering solutions to the country’s developmental challenges.

Ohuabunwa presented his manifesto to the legislators, stating practical ideas conceived for effective rebuilding of the Nigerian State, which involves making the country globally competitive in sectoral development and positioned for rapid transformation through adequate consultations and proper planning.

“The old Nigeria is no longer working. We want a country that can work for the North, South, East and West. A country that can work for the poor, and for the rich. The one that works for the strong and the weak; the male and the female; for the able and for the disabled. It is a Nigeria that we will collectively call our own”, he said.

Mazi Ohuabunwa frowned at the way Nigeria is going presently, contending that the country is in dire need of someone who has character and administrative competency to make a difference between the old and the new ways of running government in the country.

“So ladies and gentlemen, this burden that I have been with and has refused to go, is the reason you’re here this evening.

“I have come to conclusion that our country is not short of knowledge. What is wrong with Nigeria is the ability to implement. This is because, there is lack of visionary leadership in certain aspects of our national endeavor in constant manner for many years. We seem to be a country that moves two steps forward, and go backward, four steps” he noted.

Interestingly, the front line presidential aspirant has really demonstrated optimism in correcting the ills of maladministration. “Leadership that is enlightened; leadership that is competent; leadership that is visionary; leadership that is of good character; and leadership that is courageous,” he said.

He was the former chairman of Manufacturer Association of Nigeria, MAN, President, Nigeria Employers Consultative Association, NECA, President, Nigerian-American Chamber of Commerce, NACC, as well as Chairman, Nigerian Economic Summit Group, NESG and Chairman of Organized Private Sector, OPS. He was actively involved in the fashioning of Vision 2010 and 2020 documents.

Ohuabunwa has been actively involved in the public sector administration at different levels, having been chairman governing councils of state’s institutions as well as board members of federal establishments.

Some of these include; Nigeria Extractive Transparency Initiative NEITI, National Health Insurance Scheme, NHIS, National Manpower Board, NMB, National Institute for Social and Economic Research, NISER, Board of Pharmacists Council of Nigeria.

It has not been an easy ride for MSO, having been travelling both on air and on the road to consult politically exposed persons and elder statesmen like the former President of Nigeria Olusegun Obasanjo, amongst others, yet it is to him a project that must be executed for the interest of Nigerian citizens who look up to their leaders to provide them with good governance.
