The Abia State governorship candidate of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Prof Gregory Ibe has congratulated the former governor of Anambra state, Lady Virginia Etiaba on her 80th birthday celebration.
Speaking through a birthday message, Prof Ibe felicitated Lady Etiaba for attaining the octogenarian phase of life in good health. He recalled the feat Lady Etiaba achieved by emerging Nigeria’s first female governor at the age of 64, and commended her for being a beacon of hope and ray of light for the younger generation, stressing that she has remained politically relevant even as a senior citizen.
Part of the message reads, “It is with immense joy that I write to congratulate you as you turn 80 today in good health. It goes without saying that ever since you appeared in the public space as a renowned educationist before venturing into politics, you have remained a beacon of hope and ray of light to the younger generation.
“I want thank God for keeping you strong and politically active even as a senior citizen. It is therefore my prayer that God continues to renew your years like the eagle’s”, the statement read.
