Ralph Uwazuruike Weeps, Accuses Uzodinma, Owerri Archbishop Over Demolition of House With Explosive Devices

The MASSOB leader, Ralph Uwazuruike, on Friday, alleged that the Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma connived with Archbishop Lucious Ugorji of the Catholic Diocese of Owerri to demolish and bomb his house to rubbles using explosive devices.

A statement signed on Sunday and made available to newsmen by the group’s National Director of Information, Mazi Chris Mocha, Uwazuruike said the incident occurred on Friday afternoon.

Ralph Uwazuruike while pointing at the debris of the demolished property in a viral video, said he had been living in the house since 2012 which is about 12 years now.

He said he was being singled out for punishment because of the non-violence methods he and his members had adopted in the pursuit of Biafran independence.

Uwazuruike said, “As you can see, Governor Hope Uzodinma sent his officials of Owerri Capital Development Authority, OCDA, to demolish my house”.

“You can not kill all of us because we are struggling to actualize Biafra. I will not leave here to any other country. And, as a matter of fact, I will not go on exile”, Uwazuruike dares Gov. Uzodinma and Archbishop Ugorji.

Accusing Hope Uzodinma and Archbishop Ugorji as agents to some disgruntled politicians in Abuja who are working against Biafra, Uwazuruike insisted he will continue to talk about Biafra, and can never go on exile.

He said he was handicapped to retailiate the attacks by the Governor and Archbishop Lucious Ugorji of Catholic Diocese of Owerri due to the peaceful approaches he had already taken to actualize Biafra.

His words,” Archbishop Ugorji, once called me and said he was interested in the land where I built my house since 2012 even before he was posted to Owerri Catholic Diocese’.

Uwazuruike stated further that,” in 2016, some people came up to him and said that the land where he built his house belonged to them’.

“Last year, they went to the back and obtained an ‘Oluwole’ (fake) judgement from a Court without any service to us’ he also said.

“Through my lead Counsel, we went to Appeal Court to appeal and to question the veracity of that judgement”.

“Few days ago, Gov. Hope Uzodinma sent Prof. Maurice Iwu, the former Chairman of Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to me asking that I should discuss and dialogue with Archbishop Ugorji of Owerri Catholic diocese’

According to Uwazuruike, ‘I sent the copies of order of the Court of Appeal to Senator Hope Uzodinma and copied the Director of Security Services, DSS, and the Imo state Commissioner of police”.

Uwazuruike on Friday showed the documents of the order of Court of Appeal stating that as a lawyer, he was fully aware that any matter or case that was pending in Court should not be taken to any other place for settlement.

He still insisted he was being punished and victimized for championing the cause of Biafra in a bid for him to leave Nigeria and run to exile.
