The socio-cultural group, Enugu West Dynamic Ladies, en masse converged on The Base event centre in Enugu recently to show support for the Enugu West senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Osita Ngwu (RG), with a vow to vote him into office during the general election, come 2023.

In a show of solidarity for the PDP candidate, the women, on the occasion, sang songs of praise and commendation, assuring the incoming senator of Enugu West that they would give him their votes and canvass more votes for him in the coming election.

Speaking during the visit, the national coordinator of Enugu West Dynamic Ladies, Hon. Oby Udeze, said: “We came officially to endorse our candidate for the senatorial seat in the person of Hon. Osita Ngwu. The women came to endorse him, to tell him that we are standing solid for him, that he should go ahead and the women will be there for him during the election.”

Udeze added that they had no doubt about Ngwu’s capacity to represent the zone credibly in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, ponting out that: “Since 2019, we have been there for him, and now we have come en masse to show that we were there then and, now, we are giving him 100% support. I thank God Almighty for choosing him to represent Enugu West.

“First, we don’t expect anything less than 100% vote for him and when he wins, by the special grace of God, we want him to go there and make Enugu West proud.

“He has said so many things, we all know, as a human, we know all he said can’t come to pass, but if he can give us 98% of what he has planned to do, we will be happy for him.
“I know him personally as a man of his word. He will keep his promises. He is going there to take care of Enugu West and we know, in the four years of his first tenure, a new Enugu West will emerge and it will be great and people will testify that he is a great thing that happened to Enugu West.”

While addressing the women, Ngwu promised new jobs for Enugu West Dynamic Ladies as well as for their children, as one who has created over 600 jobs through his private business. His words: “I am very happy that this number of women came out within a short notice to see me and pledge their loyalty and support because they believe in me, and I am happy about that; but the important thing is not about people giving you their support, it is about fulfilling the promises you made to the people.
“I have made them promises and I am sure that I will fulfill the promises, such as better healthcare. Heathcare is a problem here. We have to make sure we build a robust healthcare here within the capacity of the area we are covering.

“We will train people and empower the unemployed. These are some of the promises I made and I am sure I am going to fulfil them.”

On how more jobs will be created and human capcity enhanced under his watch, if elected to the Senate, Ngwu explianed part of his blueprint, saying: “We have to make sure first that we use the SME system we have available to create training, and we can give people jobs in the area of specialty and interest. So, by the time we train them, we will know the specialty and area to offer jobs in.”
