SIT-AT-HOME: Gunshots across Enugu, as unknown gunmen throw residents into confusion 

 

There were pandemonium in Enugu on Wednesday following social media reports of attack on citizens by unknown gunmen said to be enforcing the illegal One Week Sit-at-home order issued by a faction of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, led by Finland-based Simon Ekpa.

 

There were reports of shooting in some parts of the state to include Agbani Rd, Artisan, Emene, New Haven, Abakpa, Orie Emene among others.

 

The hoodlums reportedly stormed the popular Artisan market in a Hilux Van. The gun wielding agents who wore masks succeeded in scaring people away.

 

At 9th Mile Corner in the outskirts of Enugu metropolis, some gunmen were seen destroying goods at a roadside market after chasing away the traders.

 

Banks, schools, markets which had opened for businesses were forced to close as a result of fear.

 

Military jets were later seen in parts of the city.

 

Recall that there was shooting report at Ishieke in nearby Ebonyi State on Tuesday.

 

Further reports also has it that some gunmen who were terrorising parts of Igboeze North in the state were outgunned by military men earlier today, and had to make their escape into the forests.

 

Reports have also reached Jungle-Journalist.Com that the gunmen have vowed to regroup and begin full-scale terrorism of Enugu residents.
