The Southern Nigeria Traditional Rulers Council (SNTRC) on Tuesday, July 29th, 2024 inaugurated it’s officials to serve the organisation in Owerri, Imo State.
The monarch of Arochukwu Kingdom, His Eminence Dr Eberechukwu Oji was among those called to serve.
They were inaugurated by the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria represented by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation SGF, George Akume.
Also present were the Executive Governor of Imo State, Gov Hope Uzodinma, Gov Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State and the Yobe State governor, Hon Mai Mala Buni Chiroman Gujba.
The historic event followed a pre-inauguration meeting held on May 21, 2024, in Abuja, where the apolitical Council reaffirmed its mission to work in synergy for the peace and good of Nigeria and to further the unity of the Southern Traditional Institution under the motto of “Togetherness, Strength, and Progress”.
Announcing this landmark event, HRM Dr. Benjamin Ikenchuku, Dein of Agbor and Secretary to the Council, emphasised that “the inaugural gathering will offer an invaluable opportunity for traditional leaders from across Southern Nigeria to collaborate, share insights, and strengthen the cultural bonds that unite the region.”
He also added that the Council anticipates full participation from all invited traditional rulers and extends its sincere appreciation to the host state governor, His Excellency, Senator Hope Uzodinma, for his generous hospitality.
