THUGGERY: Enugu ADC condemns attack on Labour Party officials in Aninri

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Enugu state chapter has condemned the recent attacks on members of the Labour Party in Enugu state.

Recall that on Sunday, 4th August 2022, the party’s officials were attacked during a ward meeting in Aninri, Enugu West zone.

In a statement signed by the State Chairman of African Democratic Congress (ADC), Comrade Stella Chukwuma, ADC described the attack as barbaric and evil, stressing that the beauty of democracy is the freedom it offers citizens to belong to any party that meets their ideological beliefs. She said that Enugu State has enjoyed relative peace and overzealous politicians should not upset the peace through political thuggery and other acts capable of truncating the Democratic process in the State.

Chukwuma urged Ndi Enugu not to lose sight of the fact that they are one, irrespective of the political parties they belong to.

She added that the African Democratic Congress is ready to take over Enugu come 2023, asking Ndi Enugu to vote for Pastor Obi Ozoenena, ADC’s Governorship candidate and other candidates of the party in the 2023 general elections.
