Wike Leads PDP Governors To Closed Door Meeting in Enugu Over Peter Obi

Five governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) met in Enugu on Sunday, 2nd October, 2022.

The meeting, according to sources, is to further discuss the way forward in the coming February 2023 presidential election.

The governors met behind closed doors and didn’t address the press after the meeting.

Inside sources said the discussion centred on how to deliver the Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi in 2023.

Present at the meeting include Samuel Ortom of Benue State, Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, Okezie Ikeazu of Abia State and the host, Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

Our sources reveal that the five governors were moved to back Peter Obi’s candidacy because they are not comfortable with the PDP flag bearer, Atiku Abubakar.

The main opposition party has been in running battle with the 5 governors and other leaders of the party from the Southern region of the country following the emergence of Atiku from the North and the national chairman’s refusal to resign.
