The state Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has assured members of Aba Merchants and Artisans Association ( AMAA) of his intervention to end any lingering issue they have with the State Board of Internal Revenue as this will enable the growth of business in Aba.

Governor Ikpeazu who made the remark while addressing Executive Members of the 90 affiliated registered groups of the Association during their courtesy visit at the Governor’s Lodge Aba, extolled them for complying with the agreement reached on the issue and promised that his administration will not relent in policies and projects that will provide conducive business environment for them.

He recalled the difficulties people encountered when accessing the Markets in Aba before 2015, that led his unreserved commitment in roads construction, explaining that trading remains the power of entrepreneurship of the Igbo man which must be managed carefully.

The Governor noted that he has laid a solid foundation for the growth of the state and urged them to align themselves well by supporting Prof Uche Ikonne as the next Governor of the state and candidates of the PDP in all the elections in 2023.

In his speech earlier, the President General AMAA – Chief Albert Okafor, appreciated Governor Okezie Ikpeazu for prioritizing the business sector since he assumed office.

Chief Okafor who thanked the Governor for building numerous roads and beautifying them with street lights, drainages and round abouts as well ensuring adequate security in the state alongside resolving the misunderstanding between the body and state BIR.

He also appealed for more actions to enable some of their members who have not gotten their ABSIN numbers to get it and pledged their unwaivering support for the realization of Governor Ikpeazu senatorial ambition with their numerical strength.

In his vote of thanks, a renowned politician and businessman, Ochiagha Regean Reagan Ufomba extolled the symbiotic relationship between the present administration and the business sector and assured them that more dividends of democracy will get to them from the Federal level when Governor Ikpeazu goes to the Senate.
