The Governor of Abia State Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu has faulted the declaration of Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe as the winner of the Abia South Senatorial election by the Independent National electoral commission (INEC).
The Governor said the declaration of Abaribe as winner after the same INEC has declared the election inconclusive amount to compromising the integrity of the commission.
The Governor who spoke through the Senatorial agent of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Chief Charles Esonu Onyedikachi in Aba said it amounts to total disregard to the laid down procedure by the commission.
According to him, a Total of 108 Polling units with over 200,000 registered voters were already preparing for the rerun before the commission made a U-turn and announced Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe.
