Enugu State Government has announced the suspension of the signing and issuance of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O), Deeds, and other land instruments by the state Ministry of Land and Urban Development.
The decision which takes effect today, June 21, 2023, was communicated to the public through a public service announcement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof Chidiebere Onyia.
According to the announcement, the Certificate of Occupancy can only be deemed valid when signed by the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency, Barr. Peter Mbah, in compliance with the provisions of the law, ensuring the authenticity of land documents in the state.
The decision is expected to have implications for individuals and organizations seeking to obtain Certificates of Occupancy, Deeds, or other land instruments in Enugu State.
