Cement Sellers and Users in Osun State, have begun the sale of a bag of BUA Cement at the ex-factory price of N3,500.

This follows the directive of the manufacturer on October 2, to crash the prices of cement amidst the lingering economic situation of the country, especially the recent removal of fuel subsidy.

Findings by Osun Defender in Osogbo, Ede, Ile-Ife, Iwo, Ilesa, and Ila-Orangun revealed that in line with the revised price, they have started making the product available to consumers at the approved retail price.

BREAKING: BUA slashes price of cement to N3,500, promises to reduce it further

Some of them who spoke to Osun Defender were of the opinion that other manufacturers of essential commodities in the country should borrow a leaf from BUA so as to improve the lots of the people.

According to Alhaji Kasali Ahmed, a cement seller in Ede, the crash in the price of cement by the manufacturer has given hope to an improved economic situation of the country.

Ahmed is also of the opinion that most cement sellers have been notified of the development and have immediately effected the change.

“We do sell BUA Cement here in Lagos at N3,500. It has been fast selling since BUA announced the reduction of cement. We thank the management for easing the affairs of the poor,” a cement dealer at Alakuko, Lagos State, Lawal Najimu confirmed to Osun Defender.

A bricklayer with over 20 years experience, John Akindele told Osun Defender that since the announcement by BUA cement, consumers and construction workers have been patronising the project, which is largely assisting their business.

Mr. Akindele, who resides in Ile-Ife, explained that: “It has been very easy since we started buying BUA for N3,500. I have got more than 50 bags since they started the new price regime. The thing is that whenever things like this happen, people are relieved. We hope this continues so we can heave a sigh of relief.

“We want government to help us appeal to other manufacturers to help us with the crash in prices of essential commodities, especially food. It is highly important to ameliorating our sufferings. We want them to help. We thank BUA cement.”
