Abia 2027: No Man Can Play God, Otti Finally Replies Benjamin Kalu

Governor Alex Otti has made it clear that he is not responding to the standpoint of the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu that he will be the last Governor from the Labour Party to govern the State.

In the Friday media chat with journalists captioned ‘Governor Alex Otti Speaks to Abians’, he said, ‘No man can play God in the affairs of men, and it is an intentional choice to not peep into that lane at all.’

“It’s too heavy to talk about what will happen in the future. I believe that power belongs to God. I’m not confident to sit here and tell you what will happen in 2027. I know a man who was boasting about what would happen in 2024 and COVID came and took him. That’s why I do not have an answer to what Deputy Speaker Rt Hon Benjamin Kalu said as no man can play God.”

In an interview last month, the Deputy Speaker while commending Governor Otti on his governance in the State said that he would be the last Labour Party Governor to govern the State insisting that the All Progressive Congress would take over the mantle of leadership in the State in 2027.

While commenting on the efforts of his administration to reposition the educational system, Governor Otti disclosed that 2,000 teachers have been trained by consultants employed by the government and assured that the remaining 1,800 teachers will be trained very soon.

He applauded the Abia State Environmental and Protection Agency, ASEPA, for keeping the State clean and hinted that his administration is evaluating a company that would process and convert wastes to economic use.

“We are evaluating companies that will process and convert wastes. We’ll announce to you when we are done with the process.”
