In the midst of mourning and tragedy that has befallen Nigeria, the Voice of Women Evolution Foundation (VOWE) has brought a ray of hope and joy to the lives of thousands of women, particularly widows, in Enugu communities.

The non-governmental organization, founded by Mrs. Sophie Uzodimma-Onovo, has embarked on a massive women empowerment program, distributing Christmas goodies to those who need it most.

The event, which kicked off at Umuogbi square in Nkerefi, Nkanu East LGA of Enugu state, was a testament to the foundation’s commitment to touching the lives of women and being a voice to the voiceless. Thousands of women gathered to receive special Christmas gifts, including bags of rice, oil, tomatoes, salt, and other food items, as well as cash.

In a statement, Mrs. Uzodimma-Onovo expressed her dream of making a positive impact on the lives of women, particularly widows and young women. “Our focus is on empowering women and being a voice to those who have been marginalized and oppressed,” she said. “We are thrilled to be celebrating the yuletide season with our women, starting from my hometown of Umuogbi Nkerefi , This is where I am married and is my home , Charity they said begins at home”.

The Chair Lady of the women of Umuogbi, Mrs. Grace Nwigwe, expressed her joy and gratitude on behalf of the women of Umuogbi, where the event kicked off. “We are honored to have such a beautiful project kickstart in our village,” she said. “This empowerment program is a blessing to us, and we are grateful to VOWE Foundation for remembering us this season.”

Many women, especially widows, who received the Christmas goodies, expressed their happiness and gratitude to Glintnews. “We are so happy to be remembered this season,” said one of the widows. “This empowerment program is a lifeline to us, and we are grateful to VOWE Foundation for their kindness and generosity.”

Widows are known to be more vulnerable in society, and VOWE Foundation is focused on touching their lives through empowerment programs of all kinds. The December empowerment program, which kicked off in Umuogbi Nkerefi, will extend to all the wards of Enugu state and beyond.

The VOWE Foundation’s women empowerment program is a shining example of the impact that can be made when individuals and organizations come together to make a difference. As the world celebrates the yuletide season, it is heartwarming to see organizations like VOWE Foundation spreading joy and hope to those who need it most.

The empowerment program is not just a one-time event but a continuous effort to support and uplift women in Enugu communities. VOWE Foundation’s commitment to women empowerment is a testament to the power of kindness, generosity, and compassion. As the foundation continues to touch the lives of women, it is clear that their work will have a lasting impact on the community.

In a world where women, particularly widows, face numerous challenges, it is organizations like VOWE Foundation that provide a beacon of hope. Their work is a reminder that there are still good people and organizations in the world that care about the well-being of others. As the yuletide season comes to a close, the VOWE Foundation’s empowerment program will be remembered as a shining example of the true spirit of Christmas.
