
The Abia State Government has announced the immediate suspension of Professor Vincent Onwe from his position as the Provost of the Abia State College of Education (Technical), Arochukwu.
According to an official statement signed by the Acting Secretary to the State Government, Ikechukwu Uwanna, Esq., the suspension was approved by Governor Alex Otti as part of ongoing efforts to ensure transparency, accountability, and the smooth administration of the institution.
In the interim, Dr. Abdulkarim K. Jibril, who is currently serving as the Deputy Provost, has been appointed as the Acting Provost. He is expected to assume responsibilities immediately and oversee the day-to-day operations of the college pending further directives.
The government urged all staff, students, and stakeholders of the institution to give their full cooperation and support to the Acting Provost as he carries out his duties.
The statement reaffirmed the Abia State Government’s commitment to promoting integrity and good governance in the management of its public institutions.
