Arochukwu Kingdom is steadily cruising into a festive mood ahead of the Thursday commencement of celebrations marking the first anniversary of His Eminence, Dr Eberechukwu Oji, as Eze Aro the 9th.
Already, indigenes of the ancient kingdom and their guests have begun to arrive in readiness for the celebrations spanning four eventful days.
Anchored on the theme “Aro Renaissance: Consolidating Gains and Charting New Frontiers for Aro Kingdom Unity, Peace and Development”, an open air crusade and medical outreach at the Aggrey Primary School, Ibom Village, kicks off the celebrations on Thursday, July 24, 2025.
The line-up of activities also includes the 6th All Aro National Conference (AANC) aimed at “Repositioning Aro Diaspora Relationships for Peace, Unity and Development” scheduled to hold on Friday, July 25, at the Aro Civic Centre, Oror Village.
The day’s official activities will be rounded off with Coronation Anniversary Dinner hosted by Nzuko Aro at the exquisite Alpha Plus Hotel and Suites, Amuvi Village.
The celebrations will peak on Saturday, July 26, also at the iconic civic centre, where Abia State governor, Dr Alex Otti as Special Guest, traditional rulers, captains of industry, academics and foreign nationals will gather to honour the first class monarch.
The curtain will be drawn on Sunday, July 27, thus rounding off the four-day carnival with Thanksgiving Church Service at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Amannagwu Village, by 10am.
Engr. Dr Eberechukwu Oji was selected the 9th Eze Aro of Arochukwu on October 18, 2023, having been certified by the kingmakers as fit and suitable to lead the ancient kingdom.
He was, thereafter, duly recognised by the Abia State Government, which issued him a Certificate of Recognition and Staff of Office on January 26, 2024, authenticating his selection as Eze Aro XI of Arochukwu Kingdom, a First Class monarch.
The Royal Palace, leadership of Nzuko Aro Worldwide, and the Central Planning Committee had earlier extended official invitations to Umu Aro including the Diaspora communities, monarchs and indeed all friends of Arochukwu Kingdom to attend the momentous celebrations.
