The suspended Governor of Rivers State, Siminalayi Fubara, has been recognized by an international aviation magazine, Eastwing Aviation Magazine, by featuring him on the cover of its latest edition for his efforts at empowering youths in the state in the aviation sector.
This recognition comes despite his recent suspension by the President, who declared a state of emergency rule on Rivers State and suspended the governor, his deputy and the House of Assembly.
The governor’s commitment to empowering young Nigerians, particularly through the Eastwing Aviation Institute, has earned him a reputation as a leader dedicated to driving development and creating opportunities.
Eastwing Aviation Magazine is an offshoot of Eastwing Aviation Institute, a pioneering institution in Southeast Nigeria, located in Enugu. As the first of its kind in the region, the institute has garnered significant attention from Nigerians interested in the aviation sector.
The institute is affiliated with Eastwing Youth Foundation, a non-governmental organization dedicated to helping financially handicapped children. The foundation sets up scholarship programs for underprivileged kids through donations, sponsorships, and partnerships.

More than a thousand copies of the magazine are available in local government offices, airports, aviation schools, and key government establishments in Rivers State.

By collaborating with the Eastwing Youth Foundation, these partners can further contribute to the empowerment of deserving young individuals and help accelerate the foundation’s mission to provide educational opportunities to those who need them most.
