The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a postponement in the commencement of registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). Initially scheduled to begin on Friday, January 31, the registration will now start on Monday, February 3 ¹.
According to Fabian Benjamin, JAMB’s spokesperson, the postponement is necessary to implement essential adjustments to the registration templates. Additionally, JAMB is scrutinizing some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers that used deceptive facilities to gain approval ¹.
This development comes after the suspension of law programs at eight universities by the Council of Legal Education (CLE). The affected institutions include:
– *Kwara State University*, Malete, Ilorin, Kwara State
– *Bingham University*, Karu, Nasarawa State
– *Redeemers University*, Ede, Osun State
– *Western Delta University*, Oghara, Delta State
– *Taraba State University*, Jalingo, Taraba State
– *Arthur Jarvis University*, Akpabuyo, Cross River State
– *Alex Ekwueme Federal University*, Ndufu-Alike, Ebonyi State
– *Nigerian Police Academy*, Wudil, Kano State
JAMB acknowledges the inconvenience this may cause and apologizes for any disruption. With around 1.5 million candidates expected to register for the UTME, it’s essential to ensure a smooth registration process.
