The leadership youth body in Nkanu Land known as Nkanu Youth Council has officially announced that their elections into various executive bodies at both national and local government levels will hold soon.
According to a statement signed by Secretary of the Council,
Comr. Chidera Osy-Peters Okoye and Public Relations Officer of the Council, Hon. Prince-will Ugwu,
the National Convention decision was made at the last Executive Council Meeting of the organization held on the 30th of September 2022 in Enugu by the Leadership of the Council, through the National Leader of Nkanu Youths and Convener of The National Debate 2022, Hon. Monday Diamond Ani(Odoziobodo).
At the end of the Meeting, Council agreed that the Electoral Committee list will be published soon, after which other processes of the election will be released.
The National President returned to Enugu last week, after successfuly organising the National Debate 2022 for tertiary institutions in Abuja, the nations capital.
He appreciated youths of Nkanu land for the love and support given to him over time.
He also cautioned aspirants to avoid public campaign till the Electoral Committee lifts ban on campaign for the Council’s leadership.
In a related development, members of the National Executive Council has hailed Ani for the way and manner he has piloted the affairs of the organization since it’s formation in 2019, with several recorded achievements and enviable reputation, devoid of blemishes and dent.
Since 2019, Nkanu Youth Council fought for the interest of Nkanu people in the public domain, sponsored palliatives during the COVID-19 pandemic era in Enugu State, carried out financial aide to some financially distressed Nkanu indigent persons, carried out the ‘Pad a Girl’ campaign across the Enugu East Senatorial Zone.
It has also provided school fees for 120 Secondary School Students across the six Local Government Areas of Enugu East Senatorial Zone, gave bursary Awards to some Nkanu Students in Tertiary institutions, organized the Nkanu Unity Cup with attached cash prize awards won and discovered new talents in football.
On the aforementioned note, the need to have a younger generation of leaders on board Nkanu Youth Council to continue to stir the ship has become imperative for the Council to continue soaring to greater heights.
The National Convention date will be unveiled soon.
