The Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra MASSOB has condemned Prophet Elijah Ayodele over his controversial remarks against Ndigbo. The group described the comments as hateful propaganda targeted at the pride and dignity of the Igbo people. MASSOB insisted that the cleric’s statements were reckless and borne out of deep-seated resentment.
Prophet Ayodele had reportedly alleged that Nigeria’s biggest problem lies in the attitude of Igbo people. He accused Ndigbo of being overly desperate in their quest to produce the next President of Nigeria. His comment suggested that leadership of the country is divinely reserved for other ethnic groups. MASSOB said such claims are divisive and unacceptable.
In a statement issued by its Leader, Comrade Uchenna Madu, the organization said Ayodele’s remarks represent a calculated attempt to demonize Ndigbo. He noted that the Igbo pursuit of political power is constitutional. He said Nigerians from all regions deserve equal access to leadership. He added that no prophet has the authority to exclude a tribe from national leadership.
MASSOB accused the prophet of acting like a hired agent of enemies of the Southeast. The group stated that his utterances follow the same pattern used by those afraid of the rise of Ndigbo. It compared him to Reno Omokri who frequently attacks the Igbo people. Madu said their narratives reveal fear and jealousy.
The group described Ndigbo as the economic engine room of Nigeria. It noted that Igbo trade and enterprise sustain countless businesses across the nation. It said their global recognition reflects genuine hard work and innovation. MASSOB insisted that such visible success often provokes envy from those with little to offer society.
Madu warned that prejudice against Ndigbo has always failed throughout history. He said those who propagate hate eventually face disgrace and regret. He predicted that Prophet Ayodele would suffer the same fate. He insisted that hatred cannot overpower truth.
MASSOB urged Nigerians to reject any message of division and bigotry. It encouraged unity and mutual respect among all ethnic groups. Madu stressed that every region has contributed to Nigeria’s development. He said peace and justice must guide national progress.
The group reiterated its commitment to defending the rights and identity of Ndigbo. It urged Igbo people to stay strong and law-abiding. Madu said their future remains promising despite attempts to undermine them. He concluded by saying that hatred always destroys those who promote it.
