YouTube video: This is the first YouTube video to cross 10 billion views

Amidst the list of popular and super-popular videos with views in millions and a few billion, there has appeared the one video to rule them all when it comes to the views and this one has crossed 10 billion views, becoming the first YouTube video to do so.

The video we are talking about is “Baby Shark”. It has become the first video on YouTube to reach the 10 billion views mark.

In November 2020, “Baby Shark” had achieved the title of the most-viewed YouTube video of all time. Continuing with its popularity, the video has reached another milestone now. At the time of writing this report, the video had 10,007,129,011 views on YouTube and 32 million likes.

Baby Shark had to contend with the popularity of Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” in its journey to the top. Despacito had the crown with 7.7 billion views before Baby Shark came along and dethroned it. And now, it looks like Despacito needs a fresh surge in popularity to catch up with Baby Shark if it wants to stay in the race.

When it comes to most viewed music videos on YouTube, Ed Sheeran’s Shape of You (Official Music Video) is right behind Despacito, followed by See You Again by Wiz Khalifa ft.Charlie Puth (Official Video). Both have 5.5 billion and 5.3 billion views respectively as on January 11, 2022.

The ones occupying the fourth and the fifth place are Mark Ronson’s Uptown Funk (Official Video) ft. Bruno Mars and PSY’s Gangnam Style, with 4.4 billion and 4.3 billion views respectively.
