A chieftain of the Labour Party, Dr Patrick Osagie Eholor has replied the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, over his comments advising the party as well as PDP to stop seeking legal redress to the 2023 presidential election.
Eholor, who spoke with Jungle Journalist Media Limited in Abuja earlier today, argued that the royal father, who is a friend of Bola Ahmed Tinubu had advised youths to take back their country, only for him to turn around now and tell the same youths to stop in their struggle to ensure that they get justice at the presidential election tribunal.
The Benin-born human rights activist also urged the Ooni to render the youths of Labour Party his support to ensure that the country is not swallowed by corrupt politicians and their activities.
His words:
“We respect your throne because you are our father, you have the youth to participate in politics, you have advised the youth to comport themselves respectively and we did and we adhere to your advice.
“You also came out now to advise that the PDP and Labour Party should shield their swords. I don’t think that’s a proper advice from a royal father. Nobody is fighting, I think the royal father should advise us not to fight but seek redress when we are upset over any issue. We also know that you are a great supporter of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, I don’t have a problem with that but to tell us to forget about those who died during the course of election, to tell us to forget about Mahmood Yakubu who rigged the election, to tell us to forget about the irresponsible law enforcement, I think it is not something that the youth are very happy about.
“I’m from Benin, the Benins and the Yoruba are related, I’m a prince and also a Chief, and we respect you Baba.
“In these few days, you anointed Godswill Akpabio. Let us not forget in a hurry when Godswill Akpabio was in service, he looted the state treasury, Oshiomhole, former Governor of Edo state gave him a condition that when Akpabio moves into APC, his sins will be forgiven and truly his sins were forgiven because APC accommodates criminals who have torn the fabrics of democracy in Nigeria.
“Today, he has been elevated to senate presidency and we can see that their father Kabiyesi is also praying for him, for leaving his state in an abject poverty, for stealing every resources in his state to support Asiwaju Bola Tinubu last election.
” I think Baba should not get himself involved in politics.”
