A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP and Director-General of Global Initiatives For Good Governance, Chief Emeka Kalu, has felicitated with the former governor of Imo State, His Excellency Emeka Ihedioha, as he marks his 60th birthday.
Speaking in a statement he signed and made available to journalists, Kalu described Ihedioha as a trailblazer who made remarkable differences both at the National Assembly and as a state governor.
His words,
My brother and my friend, I am very proud to identify with you as you mark your 60 years on earth.
You have made your life one of commitments to the development and service to humanity as a leader, with your unwavering love and commitment to those you served.
As the governor of Imo State, your true character was manifested as you changed the faces of the people from sadness into joy and walked the length and breadth of the state with development despite having lasted but a short time in office.
You also never wavered as a lawmaker, when your Constituency chose you to represent them in Abuja.
It was in your era that Nigeria got closest to what could have been the greatest reforms this country would have had when you chaired the Constitutional Review Committee, which made revolutionary reforms in the Constitution. Sadly, that great work was set aside when darkness enveloped the nation, and we were launched into a near stone age.
But we have hope. We are hopeful because with men of integrity like you still in this country, we are confident that come 2027, the expected emancipation of our people will be made manifest.
Nigeria is indeed fortunate to have you as a statesman. As you mark today, I celebrate you, and pray that God make the rest of your years the best of your years.
Happy birthday, His Excellency!
Signed,
Chief Emeka Kalu,
Director General, Global Initiatives For Good Governance
