✈️ Enugu Air — A Lesson in Excellence

Wallahi, we must not allow Igbos to leave Nigeria. We must say “no” to Biafra.

Why?

Because of Enugu Air.

And because of Nsala (White) Soup.
(I’ll write about Nsala soup another day 🤣).

🛫 Have You Ever Flown With an All-Female Crew?

Yes?
Did you say yes?

Okay… If you said yes, was it in Nigeria?
I doubt it. Don’t coman be lying here.

And when I say all-female crew, I mean everyone responsible for the aircraft and passengers — from the Captain and First Officer in the cockpit to the Cabin Crew in the cabin.

Now, let me ask again:
👉 Have you ever flown on an all-female-crew aircraft?

If you still say yes, here’s the one you may not be able to answer “yes” to:
👉 Have you ever flown in an aircraft powered by an all-female, all-Igbo crew?

🌍 My Experience on Enugu Air

My afternoon flight today from Abuja to Lagos was the best 50 minutes I have ever spent in the air.

As some of you know, I travel a lot — both locally and internationally. So, it means something if I say this was my best flight ever.

I had never flown with Enugu Air until today. It was Dr. Wale Banmore who suggested it late last night when I couldn’t book Arik, Air Peace, or Overland.

“Would you like to try Enugu Air? It’s the only one available early tomorrow. Newer aircraft, but the fare may be slightly higher,” Wale said.

Me, on Enugu Air?
Me, patronize “Biafrans”? 🤣
Naaah!

But since a beggar has no choice, I asked Wale to get me a ticket.

🎨 First Impressions

At the bottom of the stairs, waiting to board, I noticed the bright new paint on the aircraft.

Wale did say they had newer planes. My skeptical head told me they just re-painted an old one.

But stepping inside — wow. Clean, neat, modern. Not raggedy at all.

Then I glanced into the cockpit… two female pilots.

“Ah! No man in the cockpit?” I asked myself quietly.

Once seated, I noticed the cabin crew: all women.

Soon the calm voice of the Captain came on:

“This is Captain Quincy…”

And off we went.

👩🏾‍✈️ The Igbo Women in the Sky

It wasn’t just coincidence. The names of the crew confirmed it — they were Igbo women:

  • Senior First Officer — Grace
  • Cabin Crew — Ogochukwu
  • Cabin Crew — Excel
  • Cabin Crew — Nonso

(I had one of them write it down for me.)

Hey God o! Me, that always yab and jab “Biafrans” and ObIDIOTS — God placed my life in the hands of Biafrans 🤣.

Luckily, my new beard shielded me from recognition.

🛩️ Smooth as Butter

Takeoff was flawless. The plane sliced through the clouds like a hot knife through butter. Gentle banks, confident altitude climb — professionalism on display.

I even started hoping Enugu Air would fly the Ibadan–Abuja route, pending when I launch my own Ibadan Air 🤣.

Landing in Lagos was equally smooth.

A pre-recorded message came on in Igbo (not translated) — which was fine by me. I fully support promoting Nigerian languages.

🎯 Final Thoughts

All in all, I fully recommend Enugu Air — though I can’t promise you’ll get the kind of all-female, all-Igbo crew I had today.

Their Mission Statement reads:

“Enugu Air is on a bold mission to connect the Southeast to the world, elevate regional pride, and redefine the flying experience in Nigeria and Africa.”

If they maintain what I experienced today, they’ll achieve it.

Thank you, Enugu Air, for promoting women of excellence.

Ko je bo se je.

Doxology.
