Gregory University Founder Mourns Evangelist
Professor Gregory Ibe has joined the global Christian community in mourning the death of Rev. Dr. Uma Ukpai. In a statement, Prof Ibe emphasized the evangelist’s lifelong dedication to spreading the Gospel. Over six decades, Rev. Ukpai touched millions of lives through evangelism, prophetic ministry, and dynamic teaching.
Prof Ibe said, “Rev. Uma Ukpai’s work will be remembered for generations. His commitment to faith and service inspired countless believers, including myself.” The statement was shared to honor the spiritual leader’s contribution to global Christianity.
A Legacy of Faith and Service
Rev. Uma Ukpai founded the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association, reaching unreached communities and offering hope to the hopeless. Prof Ibe highlighted how the evangelist strengthened the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria and nurtured Christian networks worldwide.
He also extended condolences to Rev. Ukpai’s family, particularly Pastor Philomena Ukpai and their children. “Your loss is not yours alone. The global Christian community shares in your grief,” Prof Ibe said.
Inspiration for Future Generations
In his tribute, Prof Ibe stressed that Rev. Ukpai’s legacy would continue to inspire spiritual revival. Believers are encouraged to live lives marked by humility, service, and faith. Prof Ibe said, “His labor of love will eternally impact the body of Christ.”
Through mentorship, evangelism, and prophetic guidance, Rev. Uma Ukpai’s influence remains strong. Prof Ibe concluded that Christians worldwide will remember his teachings and emulate his example for generations to come.
Recall that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had also sent a condolence message to the family of the late Evangelist, even as he condoled with the Nigerian Christian community over the loss.
