A federal high court sitting in Abuja has again granted Miss Glory Okolie bail.
Okolie, who was detained by Inspector General of Police/IRT for 170 days now, was charged by the Federal Government of different terrorism charges. She was granted fresh bail on good and liberal conditions on Monday, 20th December, 2021.
Samuel Ihensekhien Jnr, who was the lead counsel, arguing the filed application for variation of Glory Okolie bail, urged the court to in view of the very strigent conditions granted before, vary same former bail conditions and grant Okolie new bail conditions that is realizable and in line with the earlier bail conditions granted by Justice C.O. Origi of the FCT High Court.
In a fundamental rights procedure suit earlier filed on behalf of Glory Okolie by One Love Foundation, a human rights group, and still pending before FCT High Court, Justice Taiwo Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja in varying Glory Okolie former bail conditions granted, stated the following new conditions as requisite to free Glory Okolie:
Provision of just 1 surety-
1. One of whom must be at least a level 12 civil servant and who is just to depose to an affidavit of means with he/her official paper documentation submitted for verification.
The judge also ordered that Glory Okolie and her co-defendant upon fulfilment of their bail conditions be released on bail. The December 2021 vacation judge will sign for their release.
An elated defense counsel, Samuel Ihensekhien, speaking on behalf of Chief Patrick Eholor, president of One Love Foundation stated that the bail conditions is realizable and shall be met in couple of days.
