After Zoom Meeting, New Eze Aro Holds First Physical Interaction With Umu Aro

It was yet another epoch of His Majesty, Eze Eberechukwu Oji, Eze Aro of Arochukwu Kingdom, at a recent event since his coronation two months ago.

The event tagged “An Evening with Eze Aro” held in his palatial residence in Barracks Layout, Arochukwu, came barely one month after his maiden interaction with Umu Aro via Zoom meeting. This time, the evening was another interactive session in which Eze Aro and Umu Aro discussed a wide range of issues concerning the progress and development of Arochukwu Kingdom.

 

His Majesty had, before the evening on Tuesday, 2nd April 2024, met with Nzuko Arochukwu (men & women wings), Nde Eze Ogo Arochukwu, Head of neighbouring Obotme community in Akwa Ibom State, Heads of Security Agencies in Arochukwu, Aro youths, as well as Presidents-General and Secretaries-General of the 19 village unions in Arochukwu.

So, the evening attended by Who is Who in Arochukwu was an occasion for Umu Aro and their King to relax and unwind in a very cordial, conducive and convivial atmosphere after a hectic schedule of the royal father. His Majesty harped on the critical need to reunite Umu Aro in peace and harmony, stressing that without peace development would remain a mirage in Aro.

Therefore, he appealed for calm in Arochukwu, advising all and sundry to sheath their swords drawn during the Eze Aro selection crisis, declaring that “the war is over”.

 

The Eze Aro, flanked by Ugoeze Nneoma Eberechukwu Oji, Eze Ibom Isii, HRH Eze Ngwu Okoro and HRH Eze Okoroafor Uro,Eze Ezeagwu N’Okwara Agwu, declared: “I call upon all sons and daughters of Arochukwu to join hands with me in this noble endeavour of advancing our beloved kingdom. I cannot do it alone. I need the wise counsel of our elders and the unwavering support of everyone to write a new chapter in the annals of our history – one adorned with the virtues of unity, harmony, and progress.”

The interactive session, attended by Prof. Okoro Ijoma, Chairman, Body of National Patrons of Nzuko Arochukwu, Mazi Nnadozie Udensi, President General, Nzuko Arochukwu Worldwide, Mazi Udo Chijioke, PG Okennachi Kindred, Hon Nkem Okoro-former Chairman Arochukwu LGA, League of Ugwu Aro, including Mazi Emma Ivi, Mazi Ike Okoronkwo, Mazi Chimezie Orji, Mazi Ernie Onwumere, Mazi Anicho Okoro, Dr Azubuike Okoro, Mazi P.C.Okoro, Mazi Ijoma Obasi Ijoma-Ochiwar and League of Ada Ukwu Aro, including Hon Mrs. Nwada Igwe, Mrs Carol Dike Okorafor, Prof. Nnennaya Kanno, Adamazi Delight Anicho- Okoro. Also in attendance ,the interim PG and SG women’s Wing , Adamazi Ogechi Bialose, and Mrs Eucharia Oti.

He shared his vision with UmuAro and took their inputs on things that needed to be done for Aro Renaissance to become a reality.

 

Also present among numerous Umu Aro were Prof Chioli Chijioke,Prof Steve Amaramiro- Ikemba, Barrister Gab Igboko, Barrister A. O. Torti, Mazi Joyce Nkemakolam , Mazi Onyema Harbor, Elder Chinedu Okoronkwo,Sir Kingsley Oti, Mazi Jideofo Kanu, Mazi Ejike Onwuchekwa,Barr Ken Ogbonna, Barr Oscar Chukwuma Okoro- Ikemba, Mazi Fidelis Okoro -ikemba, Mazi Nwosu Nwaka, Mazi Kanu Iroegbu ,Mazi Kwanasi Okoro, Mazi Emma Okoro, Mazi Emeka Okoronkwo,Mazi Kanu Oji, Mazi Aliche Oti, amongst others.

Mazi Obozuluike Ofoelue, Assistant Secretary General, Nzuko Arochukwu, read the citation of Eze Aro which was greeted with a standing ovation, while Dr. Kanu Ohuche (Ugwu Aro) gave the Vote of Thanks. Thereafter, all guests were sumptuously entertained.

 

The event, moderated by veteran broadcaster, Mazi Okechukwu Imuoh, aka Captain, and assisted by Mazi Okoro Nwaka, provided an opportunity for the reunion of kith and kin who returned from various places to Aro for the 2024 Easter celebrations.
