A Niger Delta activist, and former leader of the Niger Delta Militant Asari Dokubo has vowed to set Simon Ekpa up using the same trap he set for Nnamdi Kanu and got him arrested. He spoke live on Facebook a few hours ago about Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Simon Ekpa, the self proclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra in exile.

According to his words; “I told you I would smoke Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and I did. Now I am going to bring out Simon Ekpa from Finland to face justice soon. I will do this whether the Federal Government of Nigeria is ready or not. It does not mean that I am looking for a contract under the leadership of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The truth is that many people do not know how well I work. They do not know me at all. I am the one who long ago moved with presidents from different places. If I had known President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu when he was not president, would I be asking him for a contract now?

“If I want to make a deal, it is also for the people who follow me when I call, not for me. Don’t think that Nnamdi Kanu can give me money. I am already a billionaire,” he stated.

However, the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered the Department of State Services (DSS) to allow the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu access to medical doctors of his choice. Nnamdi Kanu’s lead counsel, Professor Mike Ozekhome, had filed an application requesting Justice Binta Nyako to issue the order, citing the deterioration of the IPOB leader’s health at the detention facility.

He also urged the court to order the release of his medical reports. But the DSS had filed a preliminary objection asking the court to decline jurisdiction in the matter, arguing that the request had been settled by another court previously.

But in her judgment on Thursday, Justice Binta Nyako dismissed the objection of the DSS, saying the agency failed to respond to issues raised by the applicant regarding his health. She held that a person arrested and detained shall have the right to demand medical attention by medical practitioners of his choice.

“Consequently, the applicant is entitled to medical attention of his choice but at his cost. This application succeeds and is hereby granted,” the judge held.

The judge added that Nnamdi Kanu’s medical practitioners and the DSS should be present whenever examination is conducted on Nnamdi Kanu outside the DSS facility. She added that the procedure should be recorded while the DSS should supervise for security purpose.

Reacting to the development, Mike Ozekhome lauded the judge for the verdict. He said he will subsequently write the DSS to avail him of his client’s medical reports since the time he was extradited from Kenya to Nigeria, that is, between June 27, 2021 till now.
