GOVERNOR Okezie Ikpeazu has told the people of Abia State to be security-conscious as the country would witness increased political activities in year 2022.

In his 2022 New Year message to Abians, Ikpeazu said, “As the race for 2023 commences effectively, Abians need to be on guard and avoid any action that will plunge our dear state into needless chaos in the name of politics”.

He also tasked key political actors and parties to be mindful of the peace and security of Abia people as they engage in their political activities.

He expressed confidence that in 2022, “brand new vistas of development will be opened in our state” and appreciated Abians for their support and cooperation in the past six and a half years of his administration.

He assured that “with an improved socio-economic outlook in our state, the New Year will definitely be better than previous years”.

The governor tasked the people to cooperate with his administration to ensure that peace and harmony continued to reign in the state while assuring that adequate measures were in place to ensure that Abians enjoy the yuletide season in peace.
