Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, has taken a significant step in reshaping the state’s administration by nominating a list of 15 individuals to serve as commissioners.

 

The list, which was presented to the House of Assembly, includes prominent figures from various sectors to aid in the development and progress of the state.

 

The Speaker of the House, Uche Ugwu, read out the names during a session, indicating that the Governor’s nominations were now officially before the legislative body for consideration. The list, signed by the Secretary of the state government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia, showcases a diverse group of nominees with expertise in different fields.

Among those nominated are some former commissioners who have demonstrated their dedication to public service. Notable among them are Prince Lawrence Eze, known as the Prince of Mburumbu, and Deacon Okey Ogbodo. Their prior experience in governance could prove valuable as they embark on new responsibilities.

 

In addition to the former commissioners, the Governor’s nominations also include renowned personalities such as Aka Eze Aka, a veteran broadcaster whose contributions to media and communication are widely recognized.

 

The list of nominees is as follows:

2. Mrs. Ngozi Eni

 

3. Prince Lawrence Eze (Prince of Mburumbu)

 

4. Professor Sam Ugwu

 

5. Pharmacist Chika Ugwoke

 

6. Dr. Kingsley Ude

 

7. Professor Emmanuel I.

 

8. Deacon Okey Ogbodo

 

9. Ben Ugochi Madueke

 

10. Barr. Lloyd I. Ekweremadu

 

11. Engr. Gerrald Otiji

 

12. Nathaniel Urama

 

13. Dr. Malachy Agbo

 

14. Mr. Aka Eze Aka

 

15. Ada Chukwu

 

The Secretary of the state government, Professor Chidiebere Onyia, clarified that this list might not be exhaustive, hinting at the possibility of further nominations. He appealed to the House of Assembly for a prompt and efficient consideration of the nominees.

 

Governor Dr. Peter Mbah’s nominations have garnered attention and anticipation from citizens as they await the assembly’s confirmation of these individuals who will play crucial roles in the development and governance of Enugu State.

 

The House of Assembly is expected to thoroughly examine the qualifications and experience of the nominees to ensure that the chosen candidates can effectively contribute to the progress and prosperity of Enugu State. Once confirmed, the commissioners will assume their responsibilities, collaborating with the state government to address the needs and aspirations of the people.
