By Tony Okwunebe

Senator Ned Nwoko representing Delta North Senatorial District at the National Assembly Abuja Nigeria has said that the only political party that can create Anioma State is the All Progressive Congress APC.

He believes that neither the Peoples Democratic Party PDP nor the Labour Party can make Anioma State a reality.

Senator Ned Nwoko said this recently at his county home on Sunday April 13, 2025, while speaking with journalists at Idumuje Ugboko. He explained that that for Anioma people to get their state they must support and join the APC. He also said that even the Governor of Delta State Rt. Hon Sheriff Oboreveori is thinking about joining the APC because the PDP is losing power.

According to Senator Ned, the President has promised to help make Anioma State happen. That is why people are joining APC in their numbers including your Governor “.

Anioma State is a proposed new state that would be created out of the present Delta State with Asaba as the State capital. If this happens, Delta State would be split into two states – one for the Anioma people and the other for the south and central parts of the state. The new state would be called called Anioma State while the other state for the south and central could be called something like New Delta and the capital might be in Warri.

He further talked about how he has been very busy in the Senate. He said he is part of many important Committees like the Committee on Police, Committee on EFCC, NDLEA, Finance, Petroleum and Gas, Education, Roads among others.

I have 27 Bills but the most important one for me is the Bill for the creation of Anioma State. Other Bills help the whole country, but the one for the creation of Anioma State is for my people.

I did not just join the APC for fun. I joined because the President, the Senate President and the APC National Chairman made promises to me.

The will complete the Okpai Power Plant to provide electricity, they will complete the Ogwashi-Uku Dam and they will build a new Dam here in Idumuje Ugboko. These projects will help Anioma people get better infrastructure and other services.

Few days ago, Alhaji Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the APC National Chairman, visited Agbor in Ika South Local Government Area of the state and during the rally which held there, thousands of people attended the rally and the APC National Chairman announced that the creation of Anioma State was now a done deal. The President, Ashwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu and other APC leaders fully support it.

Anioma State is no longer a dream, it is real, Ganduje said. We are doing this to bring fairness and development to the people. Many people from the PDP and other groups joined the APC rally. It showed that more people are beginning to believe in what APC is doing
Creating Anioma State will bring more development to the people of Delta North. It is like how Bendel state was split into Edo and Delta States long time ago.

He encouraged everyone in Delta State to think about the future and support the APC that can truly make things happen. To get our state, we must come together and fight for our future and APC has promised to stand with us, Senator Ned Nwoko said.
