Former First Lady of Ekiti State, Erelu Bisi Fayemi, has been awarded the prestigious title of Grand Supreme Champion for Women and Children in Sustainable Development.
This esteemed recognition was presented to her during the book launch of “Shifting Sands: Nigeria’s Evolving Gender Landscape,” a celebration of Prof. Bisi Olabisi Aina’s 70th birthday.
The event was organised by the Centre for Gender and Policy Studies and held at the Conference Hall of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife Osun state in celebration of the Academic Icon (Prof. Olabisi Idowu Aina).
The award, given by renowned Gender Expert Dr. Abiola Akiode acknowledges Erelu Fayemi’s tireless efforts and dedication to promoting women’s empowerment and sustainable development. Her remarkable work has made a lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals and communities.
Erelu Fayemi, a distinguished feminist activist, policy advocate, and writer, has consistently championed women’s rights and gender equality throughout her career. Her leadership and vision have inspired countless others to join the fight for a more equitable society.
Other notable feminists and gender advocates were also honoured with awards, recognizing their contributions to the advancement of women’s rights and sustainable development.
