Renowned comic actor John Okafor, widely recognized as Mr. Ibu, has reached out to the public through social media, seeking assistance in his battle against a severe ailment that could potentially lead to the amputation of his leg.
From his hospital bed, the actor made this heartfelt plea on a Wednesday.
In a video shared on his Instagram page, Mr. Ibu revealed that he has been bedridden for several weeks and has been under medical care. Discussing the nature of his condition, he explained that his medical team has cautioned that they might have to consider amputation if all available treatment options fail.
Mr. Ibu’s daughter, Jasmine Okafor, also spoke about her father’s deteriorating health and the exhaustion of his financial resources, which has prompted this public appeal.
Jasmine implored kind-hearted individuals to contribute to facilitating Mr. Ibu’s medical treatment abroad for a better chance at recovery.
In the caption accompanying the video, Mr. Ibu wrote: “Dear compassionate people of Nigeria, we are relying on your support during these critical times when we need it the most.”
Recall that Okafor, who was very ill some months back, has been recoverinh from serious health challenges.
