A 12-hour electricity outage in some European countries has led to the grounding of businesses and normal life, resulting in heavy economic loss.
Countries like Spain, Portugal, France, and parts of Germany had electricity failure from about 12:33 am to about 12:00 midnight. Schools were shut down, and most factories and hospitals had to depend on generators. But because it is an unusual phenomenon, most of them did not have standby generators.
The most affected were the rail transports that solely depended on electricity. This forced many passengers to pass the night at the rail stations.
More than 30,000 others passed the night in the bush, as they couldn’t continue without electricity to power the coaches. As of today, 29th of April, it is not yet certain what went wrong, and whether the situation would repeat again.
This is the first of its kind in centuries. No internet, no calls, and no messages. Up till this moment, the internet is yet to function, leaving many people who are not aware of the development wondering what went wrong.
