In response to the recent rumors regarding Olumide Akpata’s candidacy in the upcoming Edo State governorship election, the Labour Party unequivocally denies any notion that our esteemed candidate has stepped down in favor of Godwin Obaseki. These rumors are baseless and hold no truth.
As the standard-bearer of the Labour Party, Olumide Akpata remains resolute in his commitment to the people of Edo State and their democratic right to choose their governor.
We strongly condemn any attempts to mislead the public and undermine the integrity of the electoral process.
With barely 24 hours until the Election, we urge the people of Edo State to disregard these unfounded claims and focus on the critical task at hand: exercising their right to vote for the candidate who will best serve their interests.
We also call on Godwin Obaseki and PDP leaders to cease their attempts to weaponize poverty and manipulate the democratic process.
The Labour Party is dedicated to ensuring a fair and transparent election that truly represents the voice of the people.
Together, let us stand united against misinformation and commit to a brighter, more prosperous future for Edo State.
