The chairmanship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party in Nkanu East, Hon Sydney Okechukwu Edeh, has been declared winner of the September 21 local government elections.
Hon Edeh was declared winner following the keenly contested election where he polled over 28000 votes to beat the Labour Party, APC, ADC and other candidates who trailed behind after suffering rejection from voters in the council area.
The council polls had been adjudged the freest and fairest in the history of Enugu State by observers both from Enugu and Abuja who monitored the conduct of the election.
