The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Anambra State, Nicholas Ukachukwu, has insisted that his party secured over 70 percent of votes in the recent by-election but was denied victory through alleged large-scale result manipulation.
Speaking in an interview with TVC, Ukachukwu maintained that the APC has documentary evidence to back its claims of electoral fraud. “APC won over 70% of the election in Anambra State. We have proofs of the results from the wards. The only ward they tampered with is mine because they felt I may have won it,” he stated.
He further alleged systematic result substitution across multiple wards, claiming that while most ward results were swapped at higher levels, his own ward received direct interference. “The results were not collated at the ward level but at the local government headquarters right from the start, because they knew it would be difficult to alter them at the ward level,” Ukachukwu alleged.
On reports that the APC obstructed the deputy governor during the exercise, Ukachukwu dismissed the claims, clarifying that the deputy governor is from Anambra Central and had no business storming polling units in Anambra South with heavy security on election day.
He alleged that the deputy governor arrived at his polling unit with security personnel and began arresting voters, an incident Ukachukwu said was captured on video evidence.
