The National Ex – Officio of the PDP representing Enugu State, Hon Princess Nneka Okoro has expressed satisfaction over the just concluded local government party congresses in Enugu State where mostly Youths and Women emerged as flag bearers for council chairmen, deputies and party executives across all the State.
In her words, “Our governor is a ‘promise keeper’ (Okwenkwa Emenkwa)”
She recalled how she had approached the governor severally before the Congresses soliciting for the inclusion of Youths and Women in his government especially in the local councils, “and low and behold, we saw a congress’ that was really for Youths and Women. His Excellency, thank you.”
She also express gratitude to the governor over the emergence of Barr. Chijioke Ezugwu, Agunechibe 1 of Nkpologu as the party’s flag bearer for the council chairmanship election slated for October 5th 2024.
“Chijioke is a round peg in the round hole. Not only that he is a youth, he’s a vibrant one who is knowledgeable about the insecurity challenges that we are facing in our dear local government. His Excellency also demonstrated that he is a man of rotation. It’s the turn of Adada Development Center in Uzo Uwani to produce the next local government Executive chairman and Barr. Chijioke is a bonafide indigene of Adada, Nkpologu to be precise. His Excellency, we are grateful.
“His Excellency, I am happy that you have given us a man who will replicate your developmental and infrastructural ideas for Enugu State in Uzo Uwani Local Government. Chijioke will deliver, having been a grass root politician for over a decade. He is a home boy, he knows the terrain and he’s home based. I am optimistic that he will deliver the dividends of democracy to our people. He is capable of transforming our local government”, she stated.
