As Muslim faithful world over celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, has felicitated them, urging them to embrace love, be selfless and remain compassionate with one another.

In his Eid-el-Kabir message on behalf of Imo people, the governor advised Muslims to use the occasion to reflect on the ideals of sacrifice and offering.

He said: “To our Muslim brothers and sisters in Imo State, Nigeria and the world over, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and warmest felicitations on behalf of the state government and people of the state on this joyous occasion of Eid-el-Kabir.

“Eid, being a festival of sacrifice and offering, is a time to reflect on the spirit of selflessness and compassion, as it reinforces bonds of love, respect and empathy among individuals of diverse backgrounds and beliefs, especially in our country.

“As you gather with family, friends and loved ones to commemorate this auspicious day, I join you in celebrating the profound significance of sacrifice, devotion and faith. May your acts of worship be accepted, and may the spirit of Eid fill your hearts with love, harmony, and hope. Eid Mubarak.”

Also, Governor Alex Otti of Abia State urged the citizenry to remain faithful and continue supporting his administration with prayers, as he strives to rebuild the state and provide a suitable environment for them to live, work and prosper.

Otti, in a goodwill message to felicitate Muslims in the state on Eid-el-Kabir celebration, claimed that his administration is the answer to many years of prayers by the people for a credible leader that would lead them to socio-economic freedom and abundance.

He said that just like the great Prophet Ibrahim demonstrated his loyalty to God to the point of sacrificing his own son, his administration is already on the march to fulfilling the promises he made to Muslims and the entire people of Abia during his campaigns.

Wishing Muslims a happy Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the governor, who noted that this is the first Eid in the life of his administration, used the occasion to call on Abians to be law-abiding, live in peace with their neighbours and not engage in activities that would put them at loggerheads with security agencies.

SIMILARLY, to identify and celebrate with the Muslim community in Enugu State on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir festival, Governor Peter Mbah visited the Muslim Ummah at the Islamic Centre, Uwani and Central Mosque, Owerri Road, Enugu.

Mbah, who reiterated that the state is for everybody, reaffirmed his campaign promises, stressing that Enugu metropolis would begin to enjoy pipe-borne water again within the next 150 days.

The Muslim faithful in the state, however, commended the governor for tackling insecurity head-on, adding that they were impressed that he identified and celebrated with them.

Describing Enugu as a foremost cosmopolitan city in Nigeria, Mbah said: “You are an integral part of us. When you are celebrating, we are celebrating, and when you are in pains, we are also in pains, because in Enugu, we are one people.
