As the race to Abia State Government House gathers momentum, a frontline Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial aspirant, Professor Uche Ikonne, has been unanimously endorsed by delegates from the 13 wards of Bende LGA.
The endorsement was effected when they visited the governorship hopeful at his Umuahia residence.
Speaking at the gathering, a political leader in Bende LGA, Chief Gabriel Okereke Elendu (Enyi Bende), said that Ndi Bende stands for the truth and peace and cannot be intimidated to do what is not right.
Also speaking, the leader of all delegates who doubles as the Chairman of all Chairmen, Chief Obilandefe assured Professor Ikonne that delegates from the 13 wards of Bende L.G.A are unanimous in their decision to adopt/support him to emerge the party’s standard-bearer as well as stand by him to win the forthcoming governorship election in 2023.
Addressing the delegates, the leading PDP aspirant, Professor Uche Ikonne Ikonne thanked them for their thoughtfulness and reminded them that his aspiration is to consolidate the gains of the past leaders, as to put the state on a faster lane of development.
In his remarks, the Director-General of Uche Ndi Abia Campaign Organization, Rt. Hon. Chindeum Elechi, noted the critical role delegates play in party politics and assured them that his principal would continue to make them relevant in the politics of the state when he emerges as governor of the state.
