…SAYS: “THERE’S NO ENDORSEMENT FOR ANYONE. ONLY THE PEOPLE WILL SAY WHO THEIR GOVERNOR WILL BE

…SAYS: “THE DECISION WHETHER TO CONTEST OR NOT IS YOUR PERSONAL DECISION

One of the challenges that democracy has faced in the political development of Nigeria since 1999 has been the imposition of candidates for elections by influential politicians in various political parties.

Among many vices that practice has generated, the viciousness, aggressiveness and violence perennially displayed by aspirants to elective offices are the worst. Politics of bitterness, rancour and acrimony, do or die has become characteristic of the business politics in Nigeria.

That’s why whenever you make a rare chance encounter with any influential political leader that distances herself from the cancer of imposition of candidates, you respect her and commend her.

APOSTLE DR. NGOZIKA GLADYS JOHNSON-OGBUNEKE* is a very influential religious and political leader in Nigeria. Thats statement of fact is in all ramifications!

APOSTLE DR. NGOZIKA GLADYS JOHNSON-OGBUNEKE* has said this directly or indirectly to ambitious Abia Guber aspirants across party line for the 2023 general elections in the State, and unequivocally charged them to endeavour to work out their own salvation without fear and trembling. The best qualified aspirant will image as candidate without favoritism

She was quoted to have, inter alia, said as follows:

“Go and buy your forms if you are convinced that you want to contest and win election. You do not need my approval to buy form. Pursue your own ambition. The decision whether to contest or not is your personal decision – Do not say that anyone stopped you from contesting Consider the local characteristics of your area if there is a zoning arrangement by having the mandate and support by your people. Still show your commitment if you did not succeed

Only the people will say who their Governor will be. There is NO endorsement for any aspirant. Politics is driven by risks. Those that have worked very hard for their people, party and have the support of their people will be rewarded.”

Reading in-between the lines beyond the surface structure, the good reader would decode from the advice of our principal that she has overtly declared that she doesn’t believe in imposition of candidates and won’t support the imposition of any candidates.

For political pundits, the stance is a big hurrah for positive democratic metamorphosis. There’s hope for democracy in Abia State come 2023 and Nigeria.

By the time the curtain is drawn by the way of the party’s primary elections soon, the flag bearers/ candidate will be the incontrovertible choices of the people. Unnecessary squabbles will have been eliminated.

Therefore, Abians and Nigerians need to recognize, regard, respect and applaud the characteristic positive ethics, ethos and norms of the political philosophy of APOSTLE DR. NGOZIKA GLADYS JOHNSON-OGBUNEKE*, which is an emerging school of thought for engendering desirable good politics. Let’s stand up for the champion of democracy in our clime!

“Those whose sole purpose in politics is secure power and control, will lose both”! ~ Anonymous!

Therefore, to all aspirants, in the on coming primaries, must go back to their constituencies and canvass for support from the leaders, ward, LGA and state excos. No one exempted.

Abia must be better come 2023

By God’s grace, Abia State must be rehabilitated, reconstructed and recovered by APOSTLE DR. NGOZIKA GLADYS JOHNSON-OGBUNEKE* come 2023!!
