
Prominent Anambra Cultural Leader, Dr. Harris Chuma-Odili, Passes On
Ogbunike, Anambra State — The people of Ogbunike community and Anambra media fraternity have been thrown into mourning following the death of renowned cultural custodian and media advocate, Eze Odinana Ogbunike, Dr. Harris Udokama Chuma-Odili (Ogene Ogbunike).
Dr. Chuma-Odili, founder of Anambra Core Media Advocates, passed away on August 23, 2025, after a life devoted to the preservation of Igbo culture, truth, and justice.
Described as an illustrious son, community leader, and defender of cultural heritage, Dr. Chuma-Odili played a pivotal role in promoting traditional values and empowering the media landscape in Anambra State.
In a statement signed by the family, they expressed deep sorrow at his passing but submitted to the will of God and their ancestors. “As we mourn this irreplaceable loss, we also celebrate his remarkable life of service, cultural stewardship, and commitment to truth, justice, and community upliftment,” the statement read.
Details of his traditional rites and funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.
