Barr. Igwe Tells Abians To Expect A Greater Pace of Development in Abia Under Prof Ikonne

The Deputy Governorship Candidate of the PDP in Abia State, Hon. Barr. Okey Igwe has told Abians to expect a new Abia under the leadership of Prof. Uche Ikonne.

 

Hon. Barr. Okey Igwe gave the assurance while speaking as a guest at Family Love FM, Umuahia today. assured that the incoming administration of Prof. Uche Ikonne would unleash a quantum leap to infrastructural intervention and work in line with the TIGER Economy manifesto.

The incoming Deputy Governor explained that the TIGER Economy policy thrust, which covers trade, industrialization, good governance, education and rural development with emphasis on participatory governance would build upon the good foundations of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu. According to him, the Ikonne administration will actively and collectively work together with Abians through participatory and inclusive governance to ensure welfare of all and sundry especially rebuilding our broken social safety nets.

He said that pensions and other emoluments of the workers should be taken for granted as they are the statutory service of government which should not be a campaign message but assured that with industrialization of the State, Abia State Government would no longer depend on the megre allocations to take care of its cherished workforce.

 

Barr. Igwe, who informed that the PDP is in serious house to house campaigns and rallies, assured that Prof. Ikonne, who is recovering rapidly from a little ailment would soon rejoin the campaigns and expressed hope that Governor Okezie Ikpeazu would on the 29th of May this year hand over the governorship seat to Prof. Eleazar Uche Ikonne and pleaded with the electorates to make it happen through their overwhelming votes .
