BREAKING: INEC will officially recognize Chief Edizie Njoku as authentic APGA chairman, accept candidate – Court

The leadership of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) under Chief Edozie Njoku has said that the Independent National Electoral Commision INEC will officially recognise its leadership as the authentic voice of the party.

It also stated that INEC is also under legal obligation to accept the nomination of any Candidate that emerged from the Anambra Governorship Primary conducted on June 29, 2021 by the leadership of Chief Edozie Njoku.

The position was contained in a Press Statement delivered to journalists in Awka, the Anambra State capital eslrier today.

The Statement was signed by the party leadership, including Alhaji A.D Musa – National Vice Chairman North, Muyi Imam – National Secretary, Chief Tony Uche Ezekwelu – National Vice Chairman Southeast, and Chuks Nwoga – National Organizing Secretary.

Others include Mr. Camaru Lateef – National Vice Chairman Southwest and
Okoro Chinedum Benedict – National Administrative Secretary.

It read on part “We are delighted to inform you that the journey towards the redemption of our great Party APGA has lasted for nearly three years.

“This journey has led to complex legal fireworks; which has come at a great cost. However, for whatever it is worth, such sacrifice is not greater than our determination, resolve and commitment to ensure that politics in APGA is not misconstrued as the conduct of public affairs for private advantage.

“This Press briefing is to update everyone on the most recent legal and political developments in our great Party.

“A few days ago, on Thursday July 1, 2021 to be precise, the Federal High sitting at Awka presided over by Justice H. A. Nganjiwa at Court I, Awka granted orders in our favour of APGA under the leadership of Chief Edizie Njoku.

“The Judge in his infinite wisdom ruled as follows;

An order for INEC to accept the nomination of any Candidate that emerged from the Anambra Governorship Primary conducted on June 29, 2021 by the leadership of Chief Edozie Njoku.

“An order mandating INEC to recognize Chief Edozie Njoku as the authentic National Chairman of APGA.

“This ruling has dire implications on the leadership of our Party, but, most especially, in the forthcoming Anambra Governorship Election. Sincerely, this calls for all members of our Party to rise to the occasion of Statesmanship.

“Therefore, the NEC and NWC of our great Party hereby call on all and sundry to come together let us take APGA to that sterling height that our forebears envisaged for it.

“We, wholeheartedly appreciate the President Muhammad Buhari for his fatherly role in giving the Judiciary the needed support to ensure justice is served to all Nigerians, irrespective of creed, Party affiliation and tribal disposition”, the party concluded.
