A Labour Party chieftain and humanist, Chief Dr Patrick Osagie Eholor has called on Edo people to come out en masse and vote for the party.
Eholor in an interview told Jungle Journalist Media Limited that for 25 years, PDP and APC have continually ran down the fortunes of the country and thr state, and therefore, new blood is needed in governance for positive change. Citing Dr Alex Otti of Abia State as a model of change and revolutionary leadership, he stated that Barr Olumide Akpata and Prince Kadiri were a perfect combo for the best of leadership for Edo people.
His words “Democracy started in 1999, we just celebrated 25 years of uninterrupted military democracy. We have nothing to show for it. Even the military we chased out, by comparison did more than this demonstration of madness. They have weaponaiwd poverty, they have turned it to goldmine to enslave us, today we cannot afford to buy a bag of rice or even to buy ogogoro. That is why olumide is dealing with the real issues. He is dealing with the real issues. We have no roads, no water, lots of children are out of school. We can’t afford to buy garri or rice with our salary. If you are in court and a judge wants to sentence you to life, he gives you 25 years.
“If we have lost 25 years of our democracy, that means that our entire lives have been wasted by the PDP and APC.
“Those two parties should not be mentioned again by the Edo people. Let us borrow a leaf from Abia people ans vote for Labour Party. See what Alex Otti is doing for Abia people. Let us trust Olumide Akpata and Prince Kadiri. It’s the first time we are having very educated people, very unquestionable people without issues to their academic qualifications. You cannot give what you don’t have. APC and PDP don’t have what it takes. They are not interested in education, or to pay the minimum wage. They are not interested in making life meaningful for people, they have weaponised poverty. Now that we have seen how Alex Otti is performing, let us give Olumide Akpata and Kadiri a chance to replicate that here or even do better than that. I want to thank the Afemai people, I want to thank the Owan west, the Etsako, and everybody who is supporting us in this trip as we head to Edo Central. I have been in the trenches, fighting to ensure that we have good governance in this country. For 30 years of my life, I have never been to PDP or APC. I have never been paid by any politician and will never be paid by any.
“My children know that those who destroyed this country are PDP and APC. So I am calling on all Edo people to take the path of Abia State today, let Edo State witness true revolution and true democracy”, he stated.
