Enugu, Nov 5, 2025— In a bold declaration that cuts through the noise of Nigeria’s shifting political landscape, Hon. Harrison Ogara, the Labour Party representative for Igboeze South Constituency in the Enugu State House of Assembly, has firmly ruled out any possibility of defecting to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Speaking in Enugu, Ogara dismissed the idea of political opportunism, stating unequivocally, “I am not a food-is-ready politician.” His words echoed with conviction as he reaffirmed his loyalty to the Labour Party — the platform that, he says, reflects his values and gave him the opportunity to serve his people with purpose and principle.

“My politics is about service to my people and standing by my beliefs,” Ogara declared. “We came into politics to change the old order, not to become part of it.”

Amid a wave of defections sweeping across the country, Ogara’s stance stands out as a rare show of ideological consistency. While many politicians chase appointments and alignments for personal gain, Ogara insists that leadership must be rooted in vision, sacrifice, and accountability.

He called on young politicians to resist the temptation of political convenience and instead embrace a path of integrity and long-term commitment to the people they serve. “Politics should not be a marketplace of ambition,” he said, “but a platform for transformation.”

The lawmaker also lauded Governor Peter Mbah for fostering a peaceful and collaborative political climate in Enugu State. He emphasized the importance of cross-party cooperation in achieving sustainable development and pledged to continue strengthening the Labour Party’s grassroots presence in Igboeze South.

Ogara’s resolute position sends a powerful message at a time when political loyalty is often seen as transactional. His refusal to defect is not just a personal decision — it’s a statement of principle in a political era that desperately needs it.
